Steve Smart
Steve Smart is a media developer at one of the largest financial services firms in the world. There he shoots video, produces live web events, animates pixels and drinks coffee tea.
Growing up in Louisville, KY, Steve always had a fascination with the behind-the- scenes aspects of film-making and photography. Attending Western Kentucky University he quickly chose Photojournalism as a major and set to work shooting photos for the College Heights Herald and Talisman Yearbook. During his summers he interned at the Evansville Courier and The Chieftain in Pueblo, CO.
After graduating in 1992, Steve interned for 8 months at the Courier-Journal in Louisville and then moved north to Appleton, WI to work full time for The Post-Crescent. In the mid-90s Steve discovered Director 4.0 and began to learn about design and multi-media development. The opportunity to design pages for the Nashville Banner brought him to Nashville where he’s lived since 1997.
Steve and his wife Michelle have been married for 17 years and they have two awesome children Stephen (age 9) and Kathleen (age 7). When not working, Steve can be found playing with his kids, chasing squirrels away from his bird feeders or shopping for running shoes online.
